Game reviewsBloodrayne Call Of Duty Contract J.A.C.K. Doom 3 Far Cry No One Lives Forever No One Lives Forever 2 Tomb Raider: Angel Of Darkness Wars & Warriors: Joan Of Arc |
The second game in the acclaimed NOLF series, No One Lives Forever 2 is a worthy successor
to the original hit game, and then some. H.A.R.M. is back in business and out for revenge, the
target is none other than Cate Archer. A lot of familiar faces are back, but there are also
plenty of crazy new enemies to be dealt with. The storyline, dialogue and level design are as
excellent as ever. The diversity of locations in which the levels take place are as varied
and exotic as in NOLF 1, yet totally unique. Clearly the developers put a lot of time, effort
and creativity into their games and it definitely shows. The gameplay is as exciting as before,
yet this time the game is more forgiving towards less stealthy players. The graphics quality is
amazing and the character detail is even better than the original, good as it was. When
I started the game for the first time, the quality of the graphics in the first location
made my mouth hang open and the quality remains equally high throughout the entire game.
There are a number of subtle changes to gameplay and many new features have been added, yet overall
it sticks to the formula that made the first game such a success. One particularly inspired
new feature is the introduction of a points system, whereby you earn points for successfully
completing missions and locating classified material. The points can be used to upgrade various
skills. Since you can never fully upgrade each skill before the game is finished
(unless you're a cheater), this adds a lot of replay value to the game. Without giving too
much away, the ending leaves the door wide open for a sequel ;)
NOLF 2 is the best possible sequel to the amazing NOLF 1 and when you consider that many
game sequels fail to live up to the standards of their predecessors, that is something to be
really proud of.
Note: You will need at least 512mb of RAM for the game to run properly, especially on the
highest graphics settings. © Action Girls 2004.
